Jamshoro: Asif Shar Deputy Director Finance facing very serious charges of harassment and has been suspended after the Human Rights Department Government of Sindh, took prompt notice and called outcomes of inquiries and investigations.
Ms. Rahila Awan, a Lecturer at Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design, and Heritages Jamshoro, On Friday March 22, 2024, registered a complaint of harassment against Mr. Asif Shar, Deputy Director Finance, Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design, and Heritages Jamshoro. Female lecturer Rahila Awan reported that she was repeatedly harassed & charged of delivering vulgar writings over WhatsApp & her cell phone.
Ms. Rahila Awan, a Lecturer registered complaint in the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Rescue Center Jamshoro. While, the DSP, Sindh Police Rescue Center Jamshoro, initially failed to initiate necessary measures on the matter and treated the harassment case very carelessly.
Officers of the University told Sindh Time news: That after getting poor response from DSP Sindh Police Female Lecturer came back into hostel and started crying in her room wherein one student disclosed harassment news before reporter of Local Sindhi News Channel “KTN News“
The Deputy Director, Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, has initiated aggressive action on News of the harassment matter with female lecturer of Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages Jamshoro, by Deputy Director Finance, of same University.
The Deputy Director Finance is nephew of Mr. Bhai Khan Shar, previous Vice Chancellor of of Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages Jamshoro.
The Deputy Director Human Rights Department additionally wrote the letter that Ms. Awan was registered complaints in writing to DSP Girls Rescue Center Jahangir Ansari, whereas the authorities failed to investigate anything whatsoever. The Deputy Director Human Rights Department more thoroughly requested to Deputy Inspector General (DIGP) Sindh Police, Hyderabad and proposed immediate protection to Female Lecturer Ms. Awan, inside the boundaries of the institution and conduct departmental inquiry on the DSP concerned for not taking prompt action and delayed in registering FIR against accused Deputy Director Finance, SABS University.
Human Rights Department took prompt action upon breaking news of harassment!
The Deputy Director of Human Rights Department, promptly constituted a team to visit the university to accurate gather information, wherein Human Rights team visited the University and recorded statements from multiple staff members of university.
The Deputy Director Human Rights Department wrote a letter to Deputy Inspector General Police Hyderabad, Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Cyber wing Karachi and Vice Chancellor of the University to initiate transparent and fair investigation / inquiry after collecting all mobile devices of accused Deputy Director Finance and sending those for digital forensic for collecting further evidences and lodging FIR against accused person and submit the preliminary detailed report within three (03) days to office of the Deputy Director Human Rights Department Government of Sindh.
On an other side, Sindh Time news contacted to Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto whereas, she stated that the departmental inquiry committee has been constituted upon the matter and outcomes will be shared with Human Rights Department Government of Sindh in prescribed time frame.
