Washington imposes more sanctions over Pakistan’s missile program
On December 18, 2024, the US imposes more sanctions, targeting four entities involved in Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. Furthermore, the sanctions imposed under Executive Order 13382, which addresses proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, White house release
The sanctioned entities are:
National Development Complex (NDC): NDC is Located in Islamabad, the NDC is responsible for Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. Moreover, has sought to acquire items to advance its long-range missile development, including special vehicle chassis for launch support and missile testing equipment. The U.S. State Department emphasized its commitment to preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, stating that these actions reflect ongoing efforts to address proliferation concerns.
In response, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the sanctions as “discriminatory” and warned that they could destabilize the region. Furthermore, the ministry emphasized that Pakistan’s strategic capabilities are intended to defend its sovereignty and maintain peace and stability in South Asia.
